Because disposable
digital cameras are still relatively new to the marketplace,
there are not yet many types of disposable digital cameras available
to consumers. This does not mean that you have no options. Indeed,
you do, but not as many as you have when, say, you are looking to
by a regular digital camera.
Nonetheless, there are still a few different types of disposable
digital cameras that are worth noting:
• Underwater – This type of disposable digital camera
is absolutely perfect for an hour at the pool, day at the beach,
a week going down the river. Even if you own a digital camera, chances
are, you are not going to want to take it down a river with you!
Most likely, it is not terribly water resistant, let alone waterproof.
If you have an underwater disposable digital camera, on the other
hand, you can spend a entire day taking funny and beautiful photos
beneath the surface of the water.
• LCD screen – Not all types of disposable digital cameras
include an LCD screen. This is the screen that allows you to see
the photo that you just took, and to see exactly how you are setting
up the photo you are about to take. This can be very beneficial,
since most types of disposable digital cameras have a delete button
(which generally will only delete the last photo taken), and without
an LCD screen, you would just have to guess whether or not the last
shot needs to be deleted. The LCD screen is one of the most beloved
aspects of regular digital cameras! Of course, to get an LCD screen
on your disposable, you are definitely going to have to pay extra
for it.
• Processing included – When you are searching through
the different types of disposable digital cameras, realize that
some of the prices include processing while others do not. Do not
assume that a camera price includes processing unless it is explicitly
stated.
• Self timer – Many of these cameras do, indeed, have
self-timers, but it is a feature that you want to look for.
As the technology continues to progress, you can expect to see
many more types of disposable digital cameras on the market. In
the future, look for ones with zoom options. You should also look
for ones with landscape, portrait, and macro options (just like
many regular digital cameras have today!)
